We're having another Work Party, this time to clear some trees along the Trap Field.  If you want to burn off some of your volunteer hours, we need your help.  Bring work gloves and a rake.  Also, if you are experienced using a chainsaw, please bring it in case we need another one.  The Work Party is on Saturday, May 12th, 8:30am to about noon.  Lunch provided.

Legislator's Shoot Saturday May 19th, starting at 9am.  Please support our Legislators who will visit our club and enjoy shooting trap to let off some steam from their legislative session in Hartford.  Stop by to cheer them on.  If you want to help out, contact Steve Loban, steve@ctsas.info.

Our next monthly meeting is Friday, May 25th, 7pm.

We're having a CTA Registered Shoot on Sunday, May 27th.  Join this fun event.  If you want to help with some of the organizing or scoring, please contact Ron Kulmann, johnkulmann@sbcglobal.net.  Ron is looking for volunteers to help with various things.  Pray for good weather.

Past WLOPA events:

Thank you to all who helped clean the grounds during the recent Spring Clean-up.

CCDL held their annual dinner at the club on March 24th.  It was a great time.  Thanks to CCDL for their diligence in protecting the 2nd Amendment.

Bill Howard hosted a 2nd free AAA Motor Club Driver Training Class at the club recently.  Everyone who went really enjoyed it, and all agreed that there are a lot of rules of the road that need refreshing.   Attendees will receive a certificate that is honored by most auto insurance companies for premium discounts, which is a good thing.

The 2012 Friends of NRA dinner was well attended and WLOPA had four tables.  It was a great time again.

We had our second annual "Exercise your 2nd Amendment Right" fun shoot on January 1, 2012.  It was fun, lots of people shooting, weather was in the 40's.  Not bad.

Fall Cleanup was very successful.  This year we cleaned debris on two days, Saturday, Dec 3rd and Sunday, Dec 4th, 8:30 am to about 1:00 pm for Fall Cleanup.  There were many participating and the grounds look great.  Great job Mike Conant, the boss for the weekend cleanup activities.

The 4th Annual Breast Cancer Shoot / Emergency Relief Fund fundraiser was held on August 27th at 9am. The pre-Irene rainy weather did not deter people from having a good time. Frank Noble, the sponsor team, and everyone who helped did a fantastic job. The food was tasty, especially the award winning venison chili (thanks Doug). The raffle was a success, and the silent auction featured a Mossberg .308 ATR rifle donated by Mossberg (thanks George).
