2006 Connecticut State Field Target Championships
Aug 12, 2006 was, without a doubt, one terrific day for FT shooting and the 2006 Connecticut State FT Championships. After weeks of rain followed by blistering 100+ degree heat, the weather broke several days before the match and was high 70's, very low humidity, and a light breeze. The match was a 60 shot match across 15 lanes of fire on WLOPA's 'Wetlands' FT course. This late in summer, the fiddler ferns are at their peak and about 3 feet tall which makes for a great shooting venue. The difficulty rating for the course was 38 troyer with some exceptional shots. Some terrific scores were turned in at the end of the match and the following are the 2006 Connecticut State Champions.
PCP - Billy Lo 55/60
Piston - Paul Bishop 49/60
Hunter - Michael Flickman 47/60
Congratulations to the winners and everyone else who attended this fine day of FT shooting!

One of our favorite visitors and FT shooters, Bob Ford. Few have the knack of explaining away a missed shot like Bob!!! |

A Pounded Paddle target. At WLOPA, we mount all of our targets on concrete blocks... solves the problem of pulling targets out of the ground for good! |
