BLUE BALLS IV

The ORB Returns to Connecticut!

Passing of the 'Ball of Fame' from 2005 winner - Gerry Lempicki (r) to
the new 2006 champion - George Blass (l)

HABET!

For two years in a row now, the weather was less than cooperative for the extreme event of airgunning, but that didn't stop 27 participants from competing for the Blue Balls Orb - Hall of Fame award.  The competition was intense again this year, and in the end the old record of 22/30 set in 2005 was shattered by George Blass  (Danbury CT) who took home top honors for 2006 with a blistering score of 25/30.  George used a Daystate Mark III in the rifle portion of the event to clean his bank of frozen balls, and an IZH 46M to go 10/15 on the pistol leg of the event.

We had a lot of new shooters this year, and even though the competition was intense, while off line, it was apparent that the fun factor was off the wall for Blue Balls IV.   Throughout the course of the day the accumulated carnage of the blue ice balls accumulated and many memorable moments were had!   Congrats to all for their fine shooting  in the 2006 event!!!!  The Ball of Fame is back in Connecticut!!!  All is well!!!!!

800 frozen blue balls - on ice.  Ready for deployment.

Deployment of the balls on the firing line.  The new Generation III ball design proved
perfect for global warming by virtually eliminating 'slide-down' that was experienced in 2005

A familiar face on the trap field, Dawn turned in a very good
performance for he first time at Blue Balls competition.

Joe D. with his Falcon just before obliterating his bank of balls for a
perfect score of 15/15 on the rifle leg of the event.

Collin D, four time BBalls participant scores as

Blue Balls about to be transformed from a solid to a gaseous state. - Maggie, and Mike shoot while Paul scores.

On the pistol line..... Lots of bad words followed many shots
as a 1" target at 12 yards is a true challenge.

DDay prepares to smash some balls.

Two of the Titans of Airgunning - Steve in CT (l) and Russ B (r)
getting down to business on the rifle line.

Yes Steve - this is a lot of fun when a shattered ball catches the sunlight!
