Everyone can participate in making the 2006 Nationals a success. Of course, the first and foremost thing you can do is shoot in the match. Donation of your time to compete is the most important thing you can do to celebrate AAFTA and 20 years of Field Target in the United States. Aside from that, there are a host of things that you can do, and goods that you can donate that will make the program a success.
SERVICES AND THE MATCH
If you are interested in donating time for some specific aspect of the match, please drop me an e-mail (davidlday@yahoo.com or call 203-254-2204). There are a host of preparatory things that need completed, and we've got a pretty extensive list of things to be made, items to be bought, and services to perform before, during, and after the match. It is important to call before committing as we want to make sure that what you want to do is consistent with the match direction and plan and not contrary to it (for instance - please don't call and tell me you want to run and award another class of competition with your own awards).
GOODS
AAFTA makes the money it uses for operating expenses every year by running a raffle of donated items. On the previous page - at the bottom - you can see a list of persons and companies who have already donated things to be auctioned off for AAFTA. To donate something, just drop me an email, (davidlday@yahoo.com) and tell me what that something is along with it's retail value. A picture would be helpful also. I will then post your name (and a picture of the item if you supply it) on the donor's list under the appropriate value category. All you then need to do is bring that item to the Nationals (or ship it to me).
When deciding on something to donate, please don't look upon it as a closet cleaning exercise to get rid of things you don't want. Think of things that airgunners need and can use as those types of goods bring the highest dollar revenue in Auction. Any type of hunting equipment, targets, target stands, etc goes really well at the auction. Also, the absurdly unusual sells well at the auction and the most unusual thing I saw auctioned last year was a pellet patch made from a Kangaroo scrotal sack!
So help to pitch in and make the 20th Annual USFT nationals the biggest success ever in the history of the sport of field target. Donate....Please.
