Past WLOPA events:
We ran a 2nd Amendment petition drive that was signed by
almost 1,000 2nd Amendment supporters. The petition was sent
to all legislators in Hartford and to our delegation in Washington.
The 2013 Friends of NRA dinner was well attended and WLOPA had four
tables. It was a great time again.
Several WLOPA members attended the January 19, 2013 national
"Gun Appreciation Day" at the Capital in Hartford. There were
many speakers and it was great to rally alongside 1,000+ other 2nd
Amendment supporters.
We had a great time at our Club Christmas party on Dec. 7th,
and the following day we held our annual Special Needs Christmas
party, complete with Santa Claus and a magician. The children
and special needs adults had a great time.
We hope you enjoy the new driveway at WLOPA. The project
completed in time before the asphalt plants closed. There are
no more bumps or potholes. Thanks to WLOPA member, Lou
Rodriguez and his company, Two Brothers, who did a great and
professional job.
Plate Shooting was started late summer and it looks like it
will become a new shooting activity at the club. Thanks to all
involved.
We held our Annual Meeting on Sept. 14th to elect officers and board
members. Chris Morel is now Secretary and Maggie
Locke is now Treasurer. The President, Vice President and
Board remained the same. Many thanks to previous Treasurer Ron Kulmann, who worked tirelessly over the years providing great
stewardship over our club finances, and his passion on the trap
field.
We hosted the Boy Scouts on August 8th at the club. A
group of about 10 Scouts enjoyed Trap and Rifle shooting. This
helps them get their badges and gives them a good background in
responsible shooting.
We hosted our Fifth Annual Breast Cancer Shoot and Emergency
Relief Fund on Saturday, July 28th. The weather was great and
it did not rain until later in the afternoon. We had about 11
squads, and some pistol and rifle shooters, and everyone had a great
time. The Wolcott PD was one of the squads and this was the
first time they participated. The raffle prizes and silent
auction featuring a Mossberg Firearms gun were great, and we thank
all local businesses who donated to this great cause. After
the Breast Cancer Shoot concluded we had a BBQ picnic for everyone,
which was a great event as well.
We had a Service Rifle shoot on July 29th, a CTA Registered Shoot
July 8th, and a Silhouette Shoot on July 15th. Lots of
friendly shooting activities in July.
There was a Spring League dinner on June 18th.
There was a Legislator's Shoot Saturday May 19th that was
very successful. Seven legislators attended and shot trap.
Legislators in Hartford who support the 2nd Amendment are important
people and it was great to have so many of them participating in
this event. Thanks to Steve Loban and everyone else who
participated.
Thank you to all who helped clean the fields recently along the trap
field in preparation for the lead reclamation project, and also for
the Spring and Fall Clean-ups.
CCDL held their annual dinner at the club on March 24th.
It was a great time. Thanks to CCDL for their diligence in
protecting the 2nd Amendment.

enjoyed it, and all agreed that there are a lot of rules of the road
that need refreshing. Attendees will receive a certificate that
is honored by most auto insurance companies for premium discounts,
which is a good thing.
The 2012 Friends of NRA dinner was well attended and WLOPA had four
tables. It was a great time again.
We had our second annual "Exercise your 2nd Amendment Right"
fun shoot on January 1, 2012. It was fun, lots of people shooting,
weather was in the 40's. Not bad.

New storage garage for clay birds. We finally got rid of
all of the dilapidated trailers
