FT Builder and Match Director 2.03

The shooter registration and scoring grid provides several quick ways to enter information on match participants. The 'last name' field is associated with all prior match participants in a dropdown list, and when a prior match participant is selected, their prior information is automatically populated into the current match registration. Also, the program contains a 'bulk importation' procedure that allows you top import all registrants from a previous match into the current day match. This is useful for shooting matches where the same core group of shooters participate from match to match. It also allow you to re-register shooters quickly into multi-day matches. This in combination with the multi-day scoring summary feature (shown on a later screen) allows rapid registration, organized management, and easy summaries of multi-day events that may be shot over the same or different courses of fire.
The course details window is an expansion of the difficulty graph on the main FT Builder program interface. This form allows detailed examination of lane-specific and overall course variables and allows the match director an opportunity to 'fine tune' the course and balance it for difficulty level from lane to lane.
The detail window also allows the match director to perform a gap analysis on courses designed with the program. This gap analysis allows rapid identification of over and under represented difficulties and distances in courses. The areas where difficulties and distances 'clump' (red cells) indicate which lanes can be modified to generate a more varied and challenging FT experience for shooters.
The program can also break the gap analysis down into distribution charts for both difficulties and distances to further observe where gaps are appearing in the course design.
Finally, distances, difficulties, and kill-zone sizes can be 'rank ordered' for quick observation of overall course characteristics.
FT Builder also contains a robust statistical analysis package that allows observation of individual and group shooter scores for single or multiple matches. Results can be analyzed using 'raw' scores, or troyer-adjusted scores which minimizes the effect of match to match variation in difficulty.

A note on FTBuilder versions: Because version 2.03 required some significant changes to the database as well as some additional 'hleper' files, users of FT Builder versions prior to 2.03 will need to re-download and install the 50 MB complete installation. If you are using an earlier version of FT Builder and do not want to lose your inventory or any courses you have built, contact davidlday@yahoo.com before downloading and I will prepare a customized installation that allows you to maintain inventories and courses you may have entered into an earlier version of the program.
